Rainbow Bay Surf Life Saving Club is the most southern club on Queensland’s Gold Coast, 5 minute stroll from Coolangatta, right on the border of New South Wales and Queensland.
Rainbow Bay Surf Club was established in 1962 due to the growing population, and families finding Rainbow Bay a safe place to swim and a great place to surf. Today the area has grown in both numbers and popularity, with Rainbow Bay being one of the most popular beaches on the Gold Coast. Rainbow Bay remains a favourite for both surfers with the world famous Snapper Rocks in front of the club, and with families for the safe swimming area provided by the bay. Volunteers patrol the beach every weekend from September to May.
The clubhouse offers its members a training area, showers and change room and large equipment area. The upstairs area of the club is run by the Supporters Club.
Rainbow Bay prides itself not only on patrols, but on surf boat rowing, with the Australian Gold medals for rowing to add to the member’s trophy cabinets.
We have several categories of membership from Nippers to Active and Associate. The club offers a great community service for all age groups and welcomes the public to come and enjoy the facilities at Rainbow Bay SLSC.
